Dr Julie Spraggon
Head of Publications and Executive Editor, Historical Research
Julie has been part of the editorial team of the Institute’s journal, Historical Research (formerly the Bulletin of the Institute of Historical Research) since 2001. She received her PhD from University College London in 2000. Julie formerly worked at the National Archives (then Public Record Office) as a reader advisor.
Research and publications
Julie’s historical interests lie in the English civil war and interregnum period with previous research on the bookseller Giles Calvert and his network of radical authors; and parliamentary and popular iconoclasm during the 1640s.
