The Revd Dr Alec Corio

Following undergraduate and graduate study focussing on medieval and reformation England in the History Faculty at the University of Cambridge, I completed a PhD funded by the AHRC and ESRC's Global Uncertainties initiative in the Religious Studies Faculty at the Open University. I then trained for ordained ministry within the Church of England at Westcott House, Cambridge, and in the Divinity Faculty at the University of Cambridge.

My doctoral work explored how Protestant and Catholic historians used the new techniques of 'scientific' historical scholarship to redefine the relationship between Catholicism and English identity in the period 1869–1919.

I am now Assistant Curate of St George's, Stockport, with St Gabriel's, Adswood.
