Beth is a PhD student with the Department of History at the University of York. She is attached to the project, working on ‘The Idea of Medieval Heresy in Seventeenth-Century France’. Her research interests include the religious and intellectual culture of early modern Europe, focusing on early modern France and the Holy Roman Empire. After doing a BA at the University of Cambridge, she moved to the University of York, where she recently finished her MA, examining French print culture in sixteenth-century Strasbourg. Her PhD will focus upon the seventeenth-century context of the Doat commission, and how interest in medieval heresy reflected contemporary concerns over persecution and toleration.
As publicity officer and webmaster for the EHS she is always welcome for feedback upon the society's website and social media. If you have ideas how these could be improved please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
