The Ecclesiastical History Society (EHS) was founded in 1961 and aims to foster interest in, and to advance the study of, all areas of the history of the Christian Churches.

Latest announcements

Registration for the Winter Meeting at the IHR in January is now open: booking forms and a draft timetable are now available.

The call for papers for our summer conference on the theme of The Church and the Law is now available, please submit early proposals via the proposal form by 31st December 2017, and 31st March 2018 for the final deadline.

Our annual Postgraduate Colloquium will be held at Newman University, Birmingham on 7th March, the deadline for proposals is 16th February 2018. 

With a view to increasing the Society's profile and growing its membership, the Committee has decided to create a new post, that of Publicity Secretary

We are also seeking a replacement Webmaster and Publicity Officer, a paid post of roughly 100 hours a year.

We welcome entries for the 2017 Book Prize: deadline 31 January 2018. The winner of the inaugural (2016) prize will be announced at the Winter Meeting.
