Florence Nightingale. Influence and Inpspiration

Event type:
Conference
Date:
14 July 2010 - 16 July 2010

The conference has been organised to commemorate the centenary of the passing of Florence Nightingale in 1910.  It will be held at the former nightingale home of Embley Park in Hampshire, now Hampshire Collegiate School.  A number of papers will be delivered over three days which attempt to do justice to at least some of the many aspects of Miss Nightingale's long and varied 'career.'  The speakers are drawn from South Africa and the United States as well as the U.K.  The concluding keynote presentation will be given by Mark Bostridge, Nightingale's recent award-winning biographer.  Over the course of the conference delegates also have the option of visiting some of the places associated with Nightingale's life.
