Sixth History of European Integration Research Society (HEIRS) colloquium: European Integration and the Cold War, 1945-1989

Event type:
Conference
Date:
15 April 2010 - 16 April 2010
The complete devastation of the European continent following six years of total war precipitated the early cooperation efforts of the immediate post-1945 period. The foundations of European integration and the development of the Cold War were thus undoubtedly and inextricably linked.  Despite this simple claim, academic research on the question of European integration and the Cold War has apparently been less dynamic. The aim of the Sixth HEIRS conference lies is correcting this apparent lacuna through 18 postgraduate/post-doctoral presentations. In addition to this, we will be joined by:Patrick Major, University of Reading, UKThorsten Borring Olesen, Aarhus University, DenmarkLeopolodo Nuti, University of Roma Tre, ItalyWolfram Kaiser, University of Portsmouth, UKDr Linda Risso, University of Reading, UKHEIRS is a postgraduate network designs to foster collaboration among postgraduate researchers.
