Sponsored by the Royal Historical Society (RHS) and the Institute of Historical Research (IHR)  
This popular workshop returns to the IHR following past events hosted at the University of Glasgow, University of Leeds and University of London. It aims to provide a day of publishing insight, advice and discussion for postgraduate research students and early career researchers in History. All welcome.  

There will be focus upon research writing to publication, the editorial process, peer review, research excellence, pathways to publication and new initiatives – including open access. In addition to presentations and interactive discussion within in these areas, attendees may have the opportunity to engage more directly with journal editors, book series editors, senior academics, RHS and IHR staff regarding their own research. Those not anticipating an academic career will nonetheless benefit from insights into the publishing of historical research.  

Proposal discussion: Those wishing to take part in a proposal discussion with an Editor or series Convener should submit their details during registration (including an outlining of their research or suggested publication). Please note that places for these sessions are extremely limited. Your acceptance will be confirmed in advance of the event.

This is a free event but places are limited and attendees must register in advance of the workshop.
