The official archives of the Corporation of London are administered by the Corporation of London Records Office, Guildhall, London EC2P 2EJ. However, the Manuscripts Section holds a few Corporation records, acquired early in its history.
The boundaries of the City of London have not altered materially since the Norman Conquest and enclose a small area of 677 acres at the heart of the metropolis. 19th and 20th century alterations to the local government of greater London have not greatly affected the 'Square Mile'.
