The German Historical Institute London (GHIL) is an independent academic institution based in London. The Institute aims to further research on modern history and in particular research on the comparative history of Germany and Great Britain, on the British Empire/Commonwealth and on Anglo-German relations. The Institute also aims to encourage contact between British and German historians.
