Celtic Inscribed Stones

The Celtic Inscribed Stones Project (CISP) is a joint project between to Department of History at UCL and the Institute of Archaeology. The project is covering Celtic-speaking regions of the early middle ages and includes all stone monuments inscribed with text (apart from runic inscriptions). CISP is producing a database of all known inscriptions. A preliminary version is the database is currently available online. Information on the stones has been broken down into three main sections: site, stone and inscription. It is possible to browse the data by alphabetical, geographical and CISP code index, by alphabetical name index or by stone index. It is also possible to search the database.
