The periodicals index provides details of journals. These can be browsed by an electronic index, a geographical index, a language index, an institutional index, a topical index or an A-Z index. There is also a history journals reference section. The periodical index also has a section with calls for papers. The History Journals Guide also holds information on history and archaeology discussion lists. These can be browsed by an A-Z list, a chronological list, a geographical index and a topical index. The site also produces the History Journals News (ISSN 1439-8044) which is a fortnightly electronic newsletter of the History Journals Guide. The aim of the newsletter is to publish articles, announcements and comments about history journals, and more specifically to provide information about new and updated entries in the guide. An archive of past issues is available from the site. The bibliography section provides a list of electronic journal articles alphabetically by author. It is possible to search the site.
