The From slavery to freedom: the African-American pamphlet collection web site, compiled by the Rare Books and Special Collections Division at the Library of Congress provides access to the full-text of 397 pamphlets published between 1824 and 1909. The pamphlets cover topics including slavery, African colonization, reconstruction and emancipation. The type of material on the site includes personal accounts, public orations, legislative speeches and legislative speeches. The pamphlets have been scanned and these Images are available from the site. The pamphlets have all also been transcribed. It is possible to search the collection by keyword or to browse the collection by title, author or subject. A list of related web sites is also available from this site.
