Connected Histories is now live

We are delighted to announce that Connected Histories is now live. It brings together 11 different historical resources for searching in one place; the resources cover primary sources for British history between 1500 and 1900. Additionally, software has been used which allows searches to be restricted to people or places, and also searching by date.

Connected Histories is free to use, although a minority of the resources linked to are subscription services. Additionally it is free to register a user account with Connected Histories; an account allows you to save searches, save and export individual results, and to save and share the connections you will undoubtedly find between documents and images from different collections.

The project, funded by JISC, is a collaboration between IHR Digital, the Humanities Research Institute at the University of Sheffield, and the University of Hertfordshire.

Connected Histories offers a search interface which is at once a more powerful and a more convenient way of researching primary sources for the period 1500 to 1900. You can find the website here.
