Family History spotlight on Records of London's Livery Companies Online (ROLLCO)

The September issue (no. 31) of Your Family History magazine features an illustrated, double-page spread article on the new 'Records of London's Livery Companies Online (ROLLCO)' website. Written by Dr Jessica Lutkin, the article introduces the reader to the website and describes the database's many uses for the family historian. As well as providing a focus for anyone whose ancestor was an apprentice or freemen of one of the featured livery companies, the wealth of information contained in the database also reveals broader patterns, particularly about social and geographical origins of Londoners, and helps to provide context for the individual histories. See www.your-familyhistory.com for more information on this issue of the magazine.

ROLLCO is the result of collaboration between the Centre for Metropolitan History, the Clothworkers, Drapers, Goldsmiths and Mercers Companies and IHR Digital. It can be accessed free of charge at: www.londonroll.org
