An MA in the School of History, based in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, combines breadth of choice with depth of study. Students can choose from a number of excellent courses, all carefully constructed and taught by specialists with relevant research interests and reputations. Unlike some MA courses which ‘mix-and-match’ large numbers of small modules, our students take a year-long module in combination with other specialist modules, which allowing them to really explore the subject in detail.
The School of History supports research ranging from the early middle ages to the modern era and from landscape history through social, gender, medical and ecclesiastical history to political and diplomatic history.

How to apply for an award
To be considered for an award, you need to make an application for a postgraduate degree. You do not need to submit a separate application form to be considered for a scholarship.
Closing dates to be considered for postgraduate funding:
Postgraduate research degrees – Monday 18 February
MA courses – Friday 1 March
