New update of 'Oxford Dictionary of National Biography'

The latest update of the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (published on 16 January 2014) adds biographies of 219 men and women who shaped the history of modern Britain, and who died in the year 2010.

Those added to the new update include the politician and Labour leader, Michael Foot (written by Kenneth O. Morgan); the senior law lord, Tom Bingham (by Stephen Sedley), literary scholar, Frank Kermode (Stefan Collini), and the historian Tony Judt (Peter Kellner). The update also adds biographies of Malcolm McLaren, fashion designer Alexander McQueen, and the novelist Beryl Bainbridge (by Mark Bostridge).
