Director/General Editor of the Victoria County History

The Director/General Editor of ) of the Counties of England is a key appointment in the field of local history in Britain. The post holder will be responsible for the management of the VCH Central Office, and will provide strong leadership and strategic direction to the VCH as a whole, working with those involved in VCH activities throughout England.

The successful candidate will be a professional of national standing with a demonstrable record of successfully leading, managing and motivating a diversely skilled team in an organisation with a national reputation. They will have the necessary vision, knowledge, and creativity to co-ordinate, develop and diversify the VCH’s activities for the benefit of the local history community. Experience in authorship, editorship, fundraising, teaching and student supervision are essential requirements.
