The Role

A restructured and redesigned British History Online (BHO) will be launched in the autumn of 2014, and promotion and further enhancement of the project will be a focus of activity. This has opened up an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced individual to be responsible for the development and implementation of a communications strategy, management of content development, and day-to-day financial administration of the project.

Requirements

To succeed in this role you will have proven experience of producing content for publication, developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies, and presenting work to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. An understanding of web publishing systems and technical standards for data is essential.

A self-motivated and analytical individual with a capacity to provide innovative solutions, you will maintain enthusiasm, effectiveness and a sense of calm while working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines.

British History Online (BHO)

BHO (http://www.british-history.ac.uk) is the digital library of core printed primary and secondary sources for the medieval and modern history of the British Isles. Created by the Institute of Historical Research and the History of Parliament Trust, it aims to support academic and personal users around the world in their learning, teaching and research. Over the past 10 years it has become one of the leading resources for historical research in the UK, and is a flagship digital project for the School of Advanced Study.
