Bibliography of British and Irish History

The Bibliography of British and Irish History (BBIH) replaced the RHS Bibliography on 1 January 2010.  It contains all the data previously available in the RHS Bibliography, so it now includes over 470,000 records describing books and articles about British and Irish history. Like the RHS Bibliography, it will be updated regularly.

BBIH is the result of a partnership between the Royal Historical Society, the Institute of Historical Research and Brepols Publishers, and is a subscription service, although both the Society and the Institute are making a financial contribution to the Bibliography in order to keep subscriptions as low as possible.

Subscriptions are available to institutions and individuals. Please contact Brepols for information about subscription rates or to request a subscription (subscription rates for institutions in the United Kingdom are based on the JISC bandings and for institutions in the United States they are based on the Carnegie Classification). Institutions wishing to assess the Bibliography can obtain one-month free trials from Brepols.

Subscribers and members of subscribing institutions can go straight to the new Bibliography by visiting http://www.brepolis.net/ and clicking on "Enter databases".

We also provide a news page for information about updates and other developments; news about the Bibliography is also included in the IHR Digital blog and in the IHR's Twitter feed.
