Clerk of Deliveries 1570-1830

A provisional list compiled by J C Sainty, May 2002

Appointments to this office were made by the crown by letters patent under the great seal. Tenure was for life until 1670 and for life thereafter. The patent salary was 12d a day. The office was discontinued in 1830.

For the sake of completeness, the clerks of deliveries who served during the Interregnum are inserted at the appropriate point in the list.
