As part of our ongoing commitment to open access the IHR, in close partnership with IALS and SAS, has been developing a new online resource to facilitate the publication and collation of open access scholarly research.
Scheduled for launch in early 2017, the Humanities Digital Library will initially act as an open access library and catalogue focusing on History and Law, with future support for publications across the humanities. Scholarly open access content made available through the website will include monographs, edited collections and shorter form works which may be suited to digital publication. The website will offer online full-text reading and ebook download options for new publications, collate existing digital content, and also provide open access to books previously only available in print. Select titles will also be available to purchase in print.
With open access providing increased accessibility and visibility to scholarly research, and becoming ever more relevant to research and funding councils, the Humanities Digital Library aims to bring together and promote freely available research for both the School of Advanced Study and wider humanities community.
The IHR welcomes submissions and proposals for scholarly works intended for our open access programme. For more information and details of how to submit a proposal, please visit the submissions page.
