What can I study at the IHR?

What postgraduate degrees can I study?

MA courses

The MA in Historical Research provides the student with a broad range of transferable historical skills and excellent preparations for future PhD research. Two training modules are taken, through which students are introduced to key historical ideas, methods and sources - including documentary, visual and archaeological evidence - and learn to apply them. The third module consists of an independent project. All students also undertake a 15,000-word research dissertation on an agreed topic of their choice.

The MA programme may be taken full-time over one academic year (October-September) or part-time over two years. The normal entrance requirement is a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree but applications are also considered from candidates who offer alternative qualifications or who have experience in a relevant field.
