Further degrees
Masters degrees
University of London Masters’ Degrees are awarded on the results of examination after a course of study beyond the graduate level. Candidates entering for the degree examination after the minimum course of one year must either have obtained a first or second class honours degree or, for special reasons, be recommended by the School or Institute concerned. In appropriate circumstances a candidate may be required to pass a qualifying examination not less than one academic year before admission to the degree examination. Where appropriate to the course to be pursued, a qualification in languages, classical or modern, may be required. The course will extend over one calendar year, or in the case of part-time students an equivalent period (usually two years).

Study Module at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
History and Health
The LSHTM offers M.Sc. degrees, many of which contain an historical component. A study unit on History and Health (2 and a half days a week over 5 weeks) is run at the beginning of term three, organised by Professor Berridge. This operates as a research training unit open to some students at LSE who are registered for joint M.Sc. degrees with LSHTM. Other students may join by arrangement. The study unit can be taken as a short course.
For details, apply to Professor Berridge (virginia.berridge@lshtm.ac.uk) at The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
