Virtual exhibition

To accompany the 'PhD in History' conference, organised as part of our 90th anniversary celebrations in 2011, the IHR has put together a small online exhibition. The resources presented include interviews with students and supervisors, past and present; the results of a survey addressing the question 'what is the point of a history PhD?'; and statistics relating to the development of the PhD over the last 90 years. We have also digitised the full abstracts of some of the first PhDs to be awarded in history, which were published in the IHR's journal, then called the Bulletin of the Institute of Historical Research.

A report on the conference, and podcasts of the panel sessions, will follow in the next few weeks.
