Matt Phillpott - PhD in History Interview

Dr Matt Phillpott, IHR Digital Projects Officer, Institute of Historical Research

Dr Phillpott completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield in 2009, and is now Project Officer for the IHR Digital Seminar and Research Training Project.

"It also taught me how to talk in front of other people. I was quite a shy person, and this really brought me out more. I'm able to talk in front of people in conferences, teach undergraduate students and so forth. There's a lot of skills that I learnt through the PhD which I wouldn't have gained otherwise."
