Until April 2015, I was one of the editors of the Bibliography of British and Irish History (BBIH). I was also involved with its predecessor, the Royal Historical Society Bibliography, from 1992 onwards, and therefore took part in the creation of the CD-ROM version, published by Oxford University Press in 1998, as well as in the subsequent transition to online publication. My interests included the development and maintenance of subject indexing schemes, the design of the database used for the creation and storage of the data underlying the online version, interoperability with other online resources, and the development of macros and simple programmes for the conversion of imported data and for verifying the integrity of the database.

Prior to starting work on the Bibliography, I was a Fellow of Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
