This interactive workshop will explore the multitude of ways in which oral history can be shared with and communicated to diverse audiences via the use of educational resources, the written word and transcripts, documentaries, museum and art exhibitions, translations, walking tours, podcasts, online and in-person archives, websites, and more.
The session will provide participants with the opportunity to share their oral history projects or ideas, learn about digital methods and available resources, and brainstorm their own plans for dissemination, outreach and impact. We will consider questions of self-reflexivity, self-care, positionality and intellectual integrity while exploring how to effectively share the experiences and testimonies of interview participants.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have developed their own ideas and/or plans to think about how the oral histories they have collated, or are planning to collate, reach new audiences to leave a lasting impression.
