A panel of humanities researchers who work as freelancers currently or have worked as freelancers in the past discuss their experiences in starting out. This workshop will provide those holding PhDs in the humanities who are looking to move from the academy to a freelance career with some key insights into the practicalities and processes of freelancing. A key outcome of the workshop is to generate the basis of a toolkit for best practice and guidance on setting rates for those interested in embarking on freelance careers within the cultural sector.
