- How can early career historians engage a diverse range of audiences with their research?
- How can we collaborate with different communities in the research process and knowledge sharing?
- How can we communicate our research widely and effectively within and beyond academia?
Historians/Audience/Communities is a free event organised by History Lab Plus that aims to address these questions for the early career historian.
Featuring a keynote lecture on ‘Histories, Publics and Power’ by Professor Catherine Fletcher (Director of the Manchester Centre for Public History and Heritage, Manchester Metropolitan University), the event will provide the tools and time to look outward, make connections, and think beyond the traditional parameters of academic work.
The main programme for the day will comprise of a series of talks from our event partners: Manchester University Press, Archives Plus, Manchester Histories, and the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah RACE (Race Archives and Community Engagement) Centre, University of Manchester.
A ’History Open Mic’ will follow in the evening at the Portico Library on Mosley Street.
