History Lab+ is a national network, affiliated with the institute of Historical Research, that supports early career historians, both within and beyond academia.
This History Lab Plus event coincides with the relaunch of the network in 2023. It is an opportunity to find out more about History Lab Plus, its programme of events and activities for 2023, and to shape the direction of the network.
The event will begin with an introduction to the IHR and History Lab Plus and be followed by a series of talks about varied experiences of being an early career historian, both within and beyond academia, including current research and projects being undertaken. There will be opportunities to meet with fellow early career historians, to discuss your own experiences and questions relating to being an early career historian, and to help shape the direction of History Lab Plus. The event will end with a roundtable about History Lab Plus in 2023 including an overview of the programme of events and activities and a discussion of issues relating to early career historians.
Panel of speakers including the Director of the IHR, Claire Langhamer; Co-chair of History Lab Plus, Sarah Wride; representative from the History Lab Plus committee members; and a selection of Early Career Historians.
Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to continue these conversations with an optional trip for lunch at a nearby venue.
Bookings for this session will close on the 11 January 2023.
