The IHR’s History Lab is delighted to share details of its first workshop of the academic year. ‘How to do a PhD’ is an interactive workshop aimed at students at the beginning of their research degrees (including Masters by Research!).
The first half of the workshop will feature quick-fire talks by a number of History Lab committee members, along with guest speakers, who will share their expertise in various aspects of the PhD process. The workshop will cover training, conducting archival research, developing an efficient relationship with your supervisors, tackling imposter syndrome, beginning writing, and how to be organised! The second half of the workshop will provide the audience with the opportunity to ask our panel questions about the process of undertaking historical research at postgraduate level.
The event aims to debunk various myths about PhDs and similar research programmes. It also provides new postgraduate researchers with the perfect opportunity to begin networking with their peers. While this event is free of charge, registration is required.
All welcome- this seminar is free to attend but booking in advance is required.
