IHR Day for New Research Students, 2019

Join us on  the afternoon of 24 September for an introduction to the Institute of Historical Research, its resources, and how it can help you in your research.

Short talks provide a guide to the IHR: ideal for researchers beginning PhD research in 2019 who'd like to learn more about the Institute - as a library, a venue and an online resource. Starts with lunch at 12.45pm.

The Institute of Historical Research is delighted to welcome those commencing research degrees in history and related disciplines in London, the South East and throughout the UK. Over the course of an afternoon, we'll introduce the IHR and its remit to assist and promote historical research of all sorts.

Join us for lunch and then learn about our library, seminars, conferences, publications, website and training in specialised research skills and how they can help you. Hear also about the History Lab, the postgraduate support network run by and for those undertaking research degrees in history. Free to all new research students in history and in historical subjects from other disciplines.

The IHR Day for New Research Students will be held in the Wolfson NB01 conference room on the lower ground floor of the Institute of Historical Research, which is located in the north block of Senate House, Malet Street in Bloomsbury. How to find the IHR.

A sandwich lunch (with vegetarian options) will be available from 12.45, and formal proceedings will start at 1.30 with an introduction form the IHR Director Professor Jo Fox.
