Chaired by Dr Adam Chapman of the Centre for the History of People, Place and Communities and the Victoria County History, Dr Paul Dryburgh and Dr Amanda Bevan of The National Archives introduce the medieval state, its structure and its records and delve into the uses of early modern litigation records with a particular focus on local histories. 

This session will also include advice and information on the workings of Discovery (the TNA catalogue) and how to get the best from it.
