As increasing national attention on Black British history, this seminar is focused on the politics behind the production of that history. More specifically, we ask the uncomfortable questions: Who gets to write this history? Who is given funding? Should history be made to speak to the present? What are the ethics that historians should consider?

This seminar will include three speakers reflecting briefly on their own practice, followed by dialogue with the audience.

  • Nadine Chambers is a PhD candidate at Birkbeck, University of London.
  • Nicole Jackson is Associate Professor at Bowling Green State University, Ohio
  • Meleisa Ono-George is Associate Professor at University of Warwick

All welcome- this seminar is free to attend but advance registration is required.
