This roundtable is inspired by the recent publication of three books that together epitomise the new turn in writing the history of early modern Rome and Catholicism more generally: Pamela M. Jones, Barbara Wisch, and Simon Ditchfield, eds. Companion to Early Modern Rome, 1492-1692 (2019); Stefan Bauer, The Invention of Papal History (2020); Paolo Sachet, Publishing for the Popes (2020).

This is a joint session with the the Late Medieval and Early Modern Italy seminar

All welcome: This event is free, but booking is required.
