Past & Present Fellowships are available for two years, and open to researchers who have completed a doctorate in history.

Economic History Society Fellowships are available for one-year for post-doctoral researchers in the field of economic and social history.

The Pearsall Fellowship is a one-year post-doctoral fellowship in naval and maritime history.

The Worshipful Company of Curriers, has established an essay prize on the history of London, in association with The London Journal Trust and the IHR.

The Pollard Prize is awarded annually for the best paper presented at an IHR seminar by a postgraduate student or by a researcher within one year of their PhD.

The Sir Julian Corbett Prize is given annually, on the recommendation of the IHR, to reward original research in the field of modern naval history.

The Neale Prize is awarded annually to historians in the early stages of their career for essays less than 8,000 words on the history of early modern Britain.

This annual initiative will support recent PHD students, from anywhere in the world, in developing their thesis into a Bloomsbury monograph.

The Scouloudi award pays for research, and other expenses, incurred in the completion of advanced historical work, intended to be subsequently published.

The Scouloudi award is to subsidise a part of the cost of publishing a scholarly book or article, or an issue of a learned journal in the field of history.

The aim of the bursaries is to enable students to undertake research at the IHR and at other London-based archives while participating in seminars and courses.
