Apply for a Senior Fellowship
The Fellowships will be awarded to candidates with a distinguished record of achievement in historical research or the promotion of history in the wider world.
Eligibility
The Fellowships will be awarded to candidates with a distinguished record of achievement in historical research or the promotion of history in the wider world. An IHR fellow is likely to have proven scholarship through a strong publication record in historical research or to have played a significant role in the development of history in the public realm. This may include its promotion in the media or in education more generally. Preference may be given to those currently engaged in research which is associated with one of the Institute’s research centres, or which makes use of the IHR’s resources. Senior Research Fellowships are most often awarded to candidates without any other major academic institutional affiliations and applicants will need to demonstrate how they will benefit from an association with the IHR.
We would particularly welcome applications from those whose work will help the IHR to pursue its strategy aims in some of the following ways:
- supporting and promoting ‘Inclusive Histories’ across the IHR and beyond;
- assisting in the intellectual and professional development of digital history across the IHR and beyond;
- assisting in the intellectual development of the history of people, place and community across the IHR and beyond;
- assisting in the development of the IHR Wohl Library and the exploitation of its holdings.
