Introduction

The East European collections include works about the history of the region from the early medieval period to the present day, although the current emphasis is on works from the late medieval and early modern periods. Geographically the collections cover the entire region although particular strengths within the collections include Polish, Czech and modern Greek history. These collections are small, compared to some of the other collections in the library, and complement the much larger research collections held within the library of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies.
