A selection of items from the IHR archive show some of the ways French history has been researched and studied during the 20th century.
Introduction
Below are a number of items from the Institute's archive showing some aspects of how French history was studied and researched not only in the IHR during the 20th century but in the UK and France. Many of the images show items highlighting the history of the Anglo-French history conferences from 1934 to 1957.
The IHR has also been home to the Modern French History Seminar for almost a century now of which a couple of items from its early history can be seen at the end of this exhibition.
