Abstract writing workshop
Abstracts in history are a unique art. Usually between 100 to 300 words, abstracts describe the research you are going to talk or write about to those who have not yet encountered your work. Writing abstracts is one of the key skills in the PhD process and is critical to getting lines on your CV, yet it often seems an incredibly unique form of writing and one that few students receive concrete training in.
This informal workshop will break down the essentials to writing an effective abstract and analyse successful abstracts to highlight what works well.
- this seminar is free to attend but booking in advance is required.
