Join us online on 18 November 2024 at 6 PM for a dedicated workshop designed to help applicants of the Olivette Otele Paper Prize craft a clear, engaging, and effective abstract that meets the submission guidelines for this year’s prize.

During this session, we will:
  • Break down the essential components of a strong abstract and discuss how to clearly convey your research question, methods, and anticipated impact.
  • Explore strategies for summarising complex ideas concisely while maintaining clarity and interest.
  • Review common challenges and pitfalls in abstract writing and how to avoid them.
  • Offer examples of successful abstracts, with tips on structure, language, and tone that resonate with a scholarly audience.

This workshop is a great opportunity to refine your abstract and gain insights into what the judging panel is looking for. It’s open to all applicants, whether you’re new to abstract writing or looking to improve your skills. Join us to give your abstract the best chance of standing out!

All welcome
