Join us as we welcome a new cohort of eighteenth-century history researchers. Ten of the best new postgraduate researchers will take turns to present their PhD thesis, their methods, ideas, and objectives in a ‘lightning talk’ lasting a maximum of 5 minutes each. Can they manage it? Come along to find out. This fun event is a highlight of the Seminar Series calendar and will conclude with an opportunity to meet the new PhD candidates over drinks in the IHR Common Room.

PhD students wishing to take part in the Lightning Talks, should download the CFP and note the application deadline of 31 January 2024.

All welcome.

This event is free to attend, but advance registration is required.

This will be a ‘hybrid’ seminar with a limited number of places available in person and a larger number of bookings for online attendance via Zoom. Those attending in person are asked to bring a Wi-Fi enabled laptop, tablet or phone.

The session will start at the slightly later time of 17:30.
