Aaron Clift is a Fellow at the LSE where he teaches and researches on the Cold War period. He recently obtained a Dphil from the University of Oxford for his thesis on anticommunism in postwar France, and his monograph was published by Oxford University Press in Summer 2023. Entitled Anticommunism in French Society and Politics, 1945-1953, it expands our understanding of social and political life in the early Fourth Republic, not least in regards to decolonisation and gender, and contextualises French history within the global Cold War.
