This paper explores instances of colour, ethnicity, and race in corporate management discourse and employment policies. The paper focuses on corporate interactions with individuals who were attempting to advance employment opportunities for ethnic minority people. Explored points of contention include a colour bar and the resistance by banks to both ethnic monitoring systems and formal equal opportunities policies.

Brett Morritt is a PhD Candidate at the University of Cambridge. Brett’s research focuses on the gender and racial dynamics of 20th century corporate capitalism.
