Colin Jones is Emeritus Professor of History at Queen Mary University of London. His publications include The Fall of Robespierre (2021), The Letters of the Duchess d'Elbeuf (co-edited with Alex Fairfax-Cholmeley and Simon Macdonald, 2023), Revolutionary Lives (coedited with David Bell, 2024) and The Shortest History of France (2025).

This session is organised in partnership with the IHR seminar European History 1500-1800.
