Sonali Dhanpal is an architect, built-heritage conservationist, and architectural historian whose primary focus is South Asia. She is currently completing her PhD titled ‘Contested Bangalore: Caste, Colonial, and Princely Politics’ at the School of Architecture, Planning & Landscape (SAPL), Newcastle University.

Purba Hossain is a historian of South Asia and the British Empire. She holds a BA and MA in History from Presidency University, Kolkata (India) and a PhD from the University of Leeds. Her doctoral research interrogated how voices from colonial Calcutta – the capital of British India
