A day workshop to teach women how to run writing groups, either in person or on Zoom, where older grassroots feminists are encouraged to write their histories of the Women’s Liberation Movement.
HOWL – the History of Women’s Liberation group – was established to reveal and collect the wealth of stories by grassroots women from diverse backgrounds who were part of this important movement, and this event is intended to feed into that process.
The event will be led by two HOWL members with teaching, writing, and editing experience, who have recently run a successful pilot project on Zoom, based in Hackney, London.
This is a participatory workshop whose goal is to produce written work by older feminists round the UK, with a primary focus on the grassroots, so this event will be targeted at older feminists who could lead such groups. It will be run in the spirit of the Women’s Liberation Movement, so we will organise our event as we hope these local writing groups will be run, with plenty of time for feedback and sharing of experiences.
Details about how to join this event will be available soon.
