Institute roles

Adam is the Public Engagement Officer for Layers of London, a project to create a website bringing together a significant collection of historic maps and other London-related resources for the first time, and working with community groups, schools and the general public to encourage them to contribute information about the London that they know.

Adam had a background in classical and commercial archaeology before moving into museums and focusing on public engagement. From 2004-2019 he worked at the Museum of London Archaeological Archive, where he co-created award winning volunteer/engagement projects such as the ‘Volunteer Inclusion Programme’, ‘Unearthing London’, and #ArchiveLottery, resulting in sector-leading models of best practice for both museum volunteering and visitor involvement.
