Ceri Thompson is Graduate Library Trainee Assistant

Ceri is Library Graduate Trainee at the Institute of Historical Research and Senate House Library.

Institute roles

Ceri is Library Graduate Trainee at the Institute of Historical Research and Senate House Library. She is currently studying for an MA in Library and Information Science. Ceri assists with the provision of services to library users, membership administration and promotion of the collections.  She also works on special projects such as reclassification and exhibitions.

Background

Ceri graduated with a First-Class degree in History from The Open University in 2015. 

Prior to her work in the IHR library, Ceri volunteered for her local library and worked as a Room Steward at Bodelwyddan Castle. She then spent a year living with books in Hawarden, Flintshire as a residential library intern at Gladstone’s Library.

Research interests

Ceri is interested in colonial history and modern European history, primarily their social and cultural aspects. She also has an interest in both gender history as well as the history of persecution in society. She has a growing fascination with the history of libraries and the history of the book.
