Julie Spraggon

Dr Julie Spraggon is Head of Publications and Executive Editor of Historical Research

Julie edits the IHR's academic journal, Historical Research, and is publisher for books in the IHR Conference series.

Institute roles

Julie has worked at the Institute since 2001. She is currently Head of IHR Publications and Executive Editor of the IHR's journal Historical Research (formerly the Bulletin of the Institute of Historical Research). She previously worked at the National Archives.

 

Julie has a BA in medieval and modern history from King's College London and an MA in early modern history from the University of Sussex, writing a dissertation on the seventeenth-century bookseller Giles Calvert and his network of radical authors. She held a Scouloudi research fellowship at the IHR in 1998-9 and gained her PhD from University College London in 2000 on parliamentary and popular iconoclasm during the civil war and interregnum.
